Where has our childhood gone?
Posted July 16th, 2008 by asiegelThink about it. Cell phones have been around since 1978, but weren't a requirement until the last 15 years, same with the internet, AOL with all those free CDs has only existed since the mid 1980s. Now we have youtube, and webcams. Hybrid cars and Airbags nearly always a requirement. The first "war" with a foreign nation since the gulf, 9/11, and terrorism. Fully computer animated movies. The Original Power rangers, saturday morning cartoons with tom and jerry, huckleberry hound, space ghost, quickdraw mcgraw, rocky and bullwinkle. The style of things has changed. Spongebob squarepants, American Idol, Survivor, culture is changing.
I was rummaging around, and I found an old computer trivia game, You Don't know Jack, the announcer is snarky and sarcastic, and the questions are still amazing even for being made in the 90s.
Speaking of things 90s. It's when I think music died. Don't have a who or why, things just got sucky. we don't have much in the way of music like the past 30-40 years, rythm, soul, feeling. Many things today are just noise. On that note, I recall a day when I only listened to music on a CD player, tower Records is bankrupt. Now you can get a MP3 player for $30, and an ipod for a range of prices. Shoot, the days of Napster come and gone, now there's the iTunes Music Store. All TV is going digital in the next year. The times they are a-changin', eh?
Webcomics, Streaming music, Hybrid Cars, craigslist, Ebay, made since I was born
All in all people have become more exposed to music, and communication anywhere. Wonder what's going to happen in the next twenty years
