Robotic Gibson Guitar, all you need to know is a song (and a dead relative)

Gibson has come out with this interesting axe. Located Here
Simply by turning a dial and strumming, the guitar can tune itself with 6 different presets(or you can tune manually). The guitar can reapply tension to strings that need to be replaced. If you own this guitar, the only thing you'd really need to learn is how to play.

However the $4,000 price tag is more than enough to keep starving musicians from holding this Robotic Les Paul, so unless you're at Uncle Reggie's Funeral, you're not likely to have that kind of scratch lying around.

This musical machine illuminates an interesting paradox. On one hand, you have John Q Wannabee, who does not have the time to practice a musician's ear. He can achieve a higher proficiency because he will not have to learn how tighten strings or tune his guitar.

On the other hand, there is something to be said for practice, and that learning how to tune a guitar and tighten the strings are essential musical skills, it is also said that having a guitar tuned to personal preferences and not presets helps foster musical innovation.

I guess it all comes down to how serious you are about playing guitar. If you're professional grade serious, I'd hope that you already know how to perform basic upkeep, but If you're a weekend Hendrix, and all you want to do is jam out, this guitar might be perfect.
